What this site collects, why, and how to get it removed.

This policy explains what information lpreston.com collects, how it is used, and what you can do about it. It is written to be readable rather than exhaustive. If you have a question it does not answer, ask me.

Who runs this site

lpreston.com is operated by L. Preston. For any privacy question, contact hello@lpreston.com.

What is collected

Information you give me. If you subscribe to the newsletter, you provide an email address. It is used only to send the newsletter and any guide you requested, and it is never sold or shared. Signups are currently handled by Netlify Forms. If I move to a dedicated email provider, this page will name it.

If you send a message through the contact form, I receive whatever you put in it.

Information collected automatically. This site does not currently run any analytics script. The web host records standard server logs, which include IP address, requested page, and browser type, in the normal course of serving the site. If I add an analytics tool, this page will name it before it goes live.

Cookies. Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This site sets none of its own. Affiliate retailers set their own cookies when you click an outbound product link, so that a resulting purchase is attributed correctly. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time and this site will still work.

What is never collected

I do not collect payment information, because nothing is sold directly on this site. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Product links on this site are affiliate links. Clicking one may place a cookie from the retailer in your browser. Those retailers have their own privacy policies governing what they collect once you land on their site, and I have no control over or access to that data. Third parties with access to data

  • Netlify: hosts this site, handles form submissions, and processes standard server logs

Typefaces are served from this site's own server, so no third party sees your visit because of them. No analytics or advertising service currently receives your data.

Your rights

You can unsubscribe from any email using the link in its footer. You can request a copy of the data held about you, or ask for it to be deleted, by emailing hello@lpreston.com. Requests are handled within 30 days.

If you are in the EU or UK, you have additional rights under GDPR, including the right to object to processing and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. If you are in California, you have rights under the CCPA including the right to know what is collected and to request deletion. This site does not sell personal information under any definition of that term.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top will change and the update will be noted here.
